Human Life

Human Life. What is its nature and dignity? Every human life has dignity simply because of its very existence, from conception until natural death.

And so we must protect life in all its stages.  No abortion, no suicide, no denying ordinary care.  Not even if the person chooses.

We must respect all life, not conclude that some lives have no worth, or that I would not want to live should my health or status "decline."  Let us love life more, not less, and help each other endure our sufferings, not eliminate our lives altogether.  Death will come without our help, but can life?

Motherhood, medical practice, and teaching have all given me a perspective that I will write about in this blog.  My Catholic faith, too, forms my outlook, though much of what I write can be discussed without that framework.  And yet I hope to inspire some to consider that as well.

Blessings,
